Kecak dance Uluwatu

Kecak and fire dance performance is traditional balinese dance. Kecak dance is that the accompanying music is provided by the human voice, a choir of a hundred man or more sitting in circle.

 

The dance tells the story of Prince Rama and his rescue of Princess Sita. The story line start when Rama wanders into the woods with his wife sita and brother Lakhsmana. There , the Rahwana kidnap Sita. Rama then seeks help and send Lakhsmana to find his friend Sugriwa, the King of Monkey. Sugriwa send his commander the white monkey by the name is Hanoman to check Sita in Rahwana Palace.

 

A dramatic scene is portrayed when Hanoman is captured by Rahwana’s troops and put inside a circle of fire to burn him alive.

 

The kecak dance in Uluwatu is usually performed in the evening when sunset begins. Started from 6 pm. while watching the kecak dance u can enjoy a spectacular sunset with a panoramic view.
